The Companion Series describes the lives of some of the first generation who accepted Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a prophet. The time they spent with him transformed them into the greatest heroes of Islamic history. Their consciences were tuned and highly sensitized; the reward they sought became much greater than anything the world could offer; the punishment they feared killed their taste buds for the heedless enjoyment that they had been immersed in. These are the people who went from highway robber to ascetic, from slave to governor, and from oppressor to tireless worker for the oppressed.
